Chapter Two - The Three Men In My Life

Funny that I mentioned our Vamp friends the last time we talked because right after that we just happened to bump into them. We have several Vamp friends around North America that we randomly see every time we get in a bit of a pickle. Thank goodness for that though. In this case, I had just finished writing to ya’ll (whoever happened to find my blog) when we saw some of the Night Walkers ahead of us on the road. We were in the process of moving camp... we always have to in case someone found our location and then told everyone else. So, these creeps were hmmm... maybe 500 feet ahead of us when Rayne spotted them in the darkness. The few stars we have in the night sky gave her just the right amount of light to sparkle off their bloody fangs in warning. Slowly, we made our way behind an abandoned motel on the side of the road. Luckily, guess who was there?! Our lovely, may I say handsome, Vamp friends! They had been traveling down the same highway we had and had just spotted the Night Walkers as well. Archer, Crimson, and Gabriel... oh how I love their non-infected dripping fangs.

So a little about these three wonderful guys? Well of course! So, these three fine fellows just happened to grow up together in a little town by the name of Savannah, Georgia. Southern charm never died even if their hearts did, I promise you that. Nineteen year-old Archer was in his junior year of high school with the darkness came over the earth. He was just the typical teenage boy, a cutie I must admit, with his dark brown, skater boy hair and I mean some fierce blue eyes. Girls have a thing for hair, you know? At only sixteen, right after the beginning of the End, Archer was bitten. He was the first of his friends to turn... but with age comes wisdom right? He learned all about how the vampire life worked within six months of turning, good for his future vamp friends, right? Oh, and I believe he has a little crush on Rayne... but that's a secret so shhh. :) Crimson, on the other hand, didn’t receive death’s ice cold bite until he was seventeen. This boy, now eighteen, has the whole emo thing going on with the dark clothes and black hair with a florescent red streak through his bangs (hence the name) that land right below his eye brows. I must say it works for him; he is kind of dark and mysterious. Never says much, but just enough to know that he cares. I, myself, may have a little crush on good ole Crimson. And last, but of course not least, Gabriel. Gabe is only a few months younger than Crimson, so he will be turning eighteen quite soon. His human life came to a screeching halt about six months ago, so he is the youngest to the vamp life. Sweet ole Gabe hit it off with Jayde right when we first met these boys and ever since they have been... dating? Eh, I don’t know exactly what to call it nowadays, but they like each other. Maybe its love? Jayde sure seems to think so. Maybe its because he is just as down-to-earth as she is and loves a good book. A vampire loving a book? What can I say. With his sandy blond hair and super tallness going on for him, I would say he is perfect for Jayde considering she is like five foot ten. Oh, sweet vampire romances... its gonna be Twilight all over again!

So, after our perfect timed meeting, these vamp boys did as they always do, protect us poor human girls from our dark world and its creatures.

And now our trek continues... plus three.

See ya,
Auden

Chapter One - Reality Sure is Setting In

Darkness is overpowering to the human eye. This is why life has become so difficult on this planet that once was called Earth. Some of us still remember when this place was called by that name, but we are few in numbers. Only the strong have survived long enough to see what Earth has become. It is a nightmare to some, but to others it is just an adventure or a game. We live in constant darkness and I am no different from any of the other humans still walking the planet. Sometimes we run into some, but those occasions are very rare nowadays. It’s just me and my gang now. We hide out from the others and are constantly on the run. I do say it can get quite exciting at times, but also very dangerous.
My gang consists of my two friends Jayde and Rayne. Together we are known as the Hidden. No one can ever see us because we are constantly in the shadows of the Night Walkers. They lurk in this darkness they call home, but we just happen to live in. They have taken over Earth; one Night Walker at a time… taking over our home. I personally call it a nightmare. We are some of the last survivors on the North American continent, so I guess you could call us experts of the dark. Life gets crazy, but we keep pushing on, fighting for our lives every single day. These “Night Walkers” as we call them are just your average vampire, right? Heck no. These bad boys have rabies. They take over the minds of humans in order to feed off them without any trouble or fighting. This is always the kicker. We have to constantly figure out new ways to protect our minds from their powers so we will not be their next meal.
Some aren’t infected, but those are rare just like us. These are some that can be trusted and they also have our backs, most of the time. They are mostly human, just with the added fangs and thirst for blood. They are the lucky ones that did not contract the rabies when they were turned. They others, well… they were goners from the start. As soon as they felt that first thirst for blood they started attacking everything with a beating heart. Soon, everyone and everything had fangs. Except us, that is.
It’s hard to figure out who can be trusted these days considering human-looking things have fangs laced with vampire poison and rabies. So I mean we are pretty much out of luck if we come  face to face with a vampire because we are either going to turn into a normal vamp or one with rabies. So please tell me if either one is better. All the rabies does is make you crazy thirsty all the time and you are unable to hide your fangs. That is the only thing that separates the rabid from the sane. Vamps can truly be friendly though… that’s one way we are able to survive these days because without their help we wouldn’t make it pass the first of the infected. Our vamp friends can bite, rip, and tear those rabid up until their dead hearts can’t even pretend to beat anymore.
Although most of the time it’s just my gang of friends, we sometimes run into our vamp friends along the road. They are the spice of our lives… well the “good” kinda spice. We are all best of friends even though we rarely get to see each other.  Thank God for friends, right?
Anyways, my friends have no idea I’m writing this, but I promise to keep you up to date… wouldn’t want you getting into any dangerous situations you couldn’t get out of, now would we?
